Crazy Golf

Untitled-1When it comes to professional golf, the PGA Tour is considered the master-race consisting of the top golfers in the world, playing the best courses, in the sunshine. Meanwhile, the European Tour battles wind and rain across the world with less star power and without the media attention of their cross-Atlantic friends.

But, as anyone who has watched any recent Ryder Cups knows, Europeans know how to have a laugh and not take themselves too seriously. Cue “Every Shot Imaginable.”

The brainchild of Saatchi and Saatchi Ad Agency, back in 2010, the video series shows top players attempting ambitious and entertaining golf shots. From clay pigeon golfing, to striking a gong in the middle of a Loch, to blowing up boats on the Moray Firth, the “Every Shot Imaginable” series has racked up nearly 10,000,000 YouTube views.

The latest features World No. 2 Rory McIlroy being challenged to an array of shots by a golf swing robot who loves to trash talk.

I love the videos and think the European Tour (and Saatchi & Saatchi) have really done a great job in producing and promoting these videos, and the Tour. So today, I tip my cap to the European Tour. Top work chaps.

Here’s a look at the previous shot challenges:

200-yard Gong Shot (2010)

Clay Pigeon Golf (2010)

Gunpowder Shot (2011)

Magicians (2012)

Padraig vs Ball Collector (2013)

About jamieonsport

My name is Jamie and I have been addicted to sports since I was 6. As a method of self-prescribed medication for the illness, I thought it would be good to detail my thoughts on the sporting world. So welcome to the workings of my inner-monologue. Join in, ignore, share, laugh, cry, be offended, be inspired, take my ranting however you will, but thanks for checking in.
