2014 Mercedes Benz Golf Cart?

One the biggest battles the game of golf faces currently is slow play. In a modern, fast-moving world, players are tired of taking 4 or 5 hours to complete a round.

Enter: Mercedes Benz.

With a company tagline of “Das Beste oder nichts” (“The best or nothing”), they may have just made the best golf cart the world has ever seen.

Designed as part of a competition in which the winner got to go to The Open, the Mercedes Benz cart is powered by electricity on a battery charged via solar panels on the roof.

Gorden Wagner, Mercedes’ chief designer on the project, told US news that the golf cart meshed with Mercedes’ design philosophy of “sensual purity.”

Among its features are: space for two bags, touch screens, docking station for an iPad or iPhone, a fridge, communication capability with other golf carts at the course, a course map, weather information and Bluetooth navigation.

Perhaps the best feature is the “Fore Button”. Much like a horn on the roads, the button can be used to warn groups ahead of wayward shots.

mercedezgolfcart21_originalIs it better than Bubba Watson’s hovercraft? I fore one (pun fully intended) believe so.

About jamieonsport

My name is Jamie and I have been addicted to sports since I was 6. As a method of self-prescribed medication for the illness, I thought it would be good to detail my thoughts on the sporting world. So welcome to the workings of my inner-monologue. Join in, ignore, share, laugh, cry, be offended, be inspired, take my ranting however you will, but thanks for checking in.
